About Galacticon

The Roswell Galacticon annually celebrates the historic events

that happened July 1947 in Roswell, NM. The city of Roswell,

the recognized UFO capital of the world, marks the occasion

with their annual Roswell UFO Festival!

 

Beginning in 2010, Galacticon began with a SciFi Film Fest

showcasing short and feature length submissions from

around the world. A SciFi & Fantasy Con was added in 2012

complete with Vendor Hall booths full of art, collectibles

and merchandise; a variety of gaming events; and fun SciFi

related activities for the whole family!

The Roswell Galacticon is a big part of the three day Festival with many of our traditional activities and a few new ones that unique to this year including:
 

• The Vendor Hall  featuring sci-fi and fantasy artwork, comic books, Cosplay props, jewelry, crafts and a wide variety of collectibles, and games!

• The annual, world famous Alien Pet Costume Contest. Cosplay is highly encouraged for you and your four-legged friends!

 

• Galacticon Kickoff – held every year at a local restaurant and bar on the eve of the event – scheduled this year on Thursday, July 4th at Peppers Grill & Bar.

• Gaming – a huge part of Galacticon featuring tabletop style board games, card games and role-playing games from gamers across the region.

​

• Special Guests like renowned regional SciFi Authors and Artists, Frank Renda and his Working Droids, and the Star Wars 501st Legion!

The Roswell Galacticon works with several entities such as the Roswell International UFO Museum & Research Center, the City of Roswell and MainStreet Roswell to make the annual Roswell UFO Festival a fun-filled weekend for all.
